After a year of many virtual state events, Virginia TSA had a great showing at the first ever 2021 Virtual National TSA Conference during the month of June. Virginia TSA had 39 schools compete with 363 students and advisors taking part in the virtual event. There were 64 events that were open for participation at the National Conference and Virginia schools took first place in 12 of those events. Short Pump Middle School and Rachel Carson Middle School led the way taking first place in four events. Eagle Ridge Middle School had a first place with Mills Godwin High School, Harrisonburg High School and Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology bringing home the rest of the top spot hardware for the state.
Virginia TSA added six second place finishes and 12 third place trophies. Nine different schools placed in the top three in an event for Virginia TSA. Short Pump led the way in total podium finishes with 12, while Rachel Carson had seven and Holman Middle School brought home five. Altogether Virginia TSA received 30 trophies. Virginia TSA also had a total of 68 top 10s at the conference. The following breaks this down for the state.
